Recently we had the chance to sit down with George to learn more about his entrepreneurial journey and how Agape is changing its clients’ lives for the better.
Below are the highlights of the interview.
Please tell me your story.
George- My entrepreneurial experience started in the restaurant business, and each step led to the next, which eventually landed me in Behavioral Healthcare.
How do you diversify your organization’s offerings to appeal to the target audience?
George– Agape Behavioral Healthcare offers all levels of care for both substance use disorders and mental health with a focus on helping individuals identify underlying core issues that have perpetuated their substance use and mental health. The programs are also focused on healing the mind, body, and spirit, and there are activities that support the wellness of mind, body, and spirit healing and wellness. Our facilities have the energy of a boutique-style resort or hotel, and we are committed to ensuring our program and treatment plan process is individualized and specifically created to help each individual reach their goals.
What would you say has been your greatest accomplishment?
George– I’ve experienced a lot of accomplishments in life, but my greatest is indeed my son. There is no greater joy or reward than having the opportunity to be his dad – to teach him, to guide him, to protect him, and to love him.
Being a key person in this environment is very challenging and all-consuming—are you prepared for the challenge?
George– I do my best to live one day at a time, and I truly believe that positions me for success because when you’re living in the now, it makes it easier to problem-solve and handle challenges. The present moment is a generous moment and it’s easy to stay focused when you’re present, which supports managing the challenges that are inevitable.
What is your “Secret Sauce?” i.e., what are the 3-5 Leadership Principles that you have discovered and executed that have contributed to your success?
George– I strongly believe you have to be what you want. I do my best to lead by example. My choices and decisions are intentional. I am clear about my goals and vision, and I make sure I position myself to stay in alignment with my vision. Five Principles that have played a huge part in my success are 1) Practicing authenticity, 2) Admitting Mistakes, 3) Believing in our products, myself, and our team, 4) Staying Resilient – Showing up no matter what, 5) Staying Inspired and Inspiring Others.
What are your biggest failures professionally?
George– I’ve experienced many failures, but they provide opportunities for growth. Without fail, there is no evolution. My perspective on failures is what supports me in showing up despite the falling down.
What does success look like for you?
George– Success to me is about having the opportunity every day to give back to those in need, and to stay committed to giving my team the space to become their best so they can continue to provide excellent care to our community. Success to me is also about being the best version of myself for my son, my family, my team, and really the world.
What are some of the new ideas you would implement in this position?
George– Agape Behavioral Healthcare is in the process of expanding and evolving, which we are excited to share. I’m an innovative and creative individual, and I intentionally carve out time each week to dream and implement a course of action to bring new ideas to life.
What is your “vision” in life, e.g., what drives you to a Successful Journey?
George– My vision is to create something bigger than ever before that offers a safe space for those in need to heal and recover and for people to have access to top resources and the best talent in the industry.
Kindly brief us about your company’s future perspectives.
George– Agape Behavioral Healthcare is committed to expanding and evolving so that we can help as many people as possible all over the world. Our team is dedicated to learning the newest and greatest medically and clinically, and we believe in infinite possibilities.
